Saab

Swedish car maker Saab never fails to please its customers. Its vehicles have top grade features and durable, stylish finishings.

Still, they need regular servicing like all cars. Alan Mance Prestige will prove why it’s the motoring company to manage your Saab.

The Car that has come far

The Swedish company started creating automobiles in 1945, with a design it named X9248, later known as Project 92. The company built the Saab 92 model based on this.

It redesigned the car in 1955 and renamed it the Saab 93. It housed the company’s trademark trapezoidal radiator grill. It added a wagon variant of this, named the Saab 95. The automobile manufacturer went on to create its first performance car, the Saab 94.

The 1960s saw the Saab 96, the third revision to the Saab 92.  The company introduced the Saab 99 in 1968. It had the innovations that would define the company for years – wraparound windscreens, headlamp washers, self-repairing windscreens, and side-impact door beams.

The company has had its share of downs but has emerged triumphant with its latest 2018 models. They have the features that define a Saab Car.

Outstanding Features of a Saab

What features set this car apart from others?  There are many, and Alan Mance introduces you to a few of them.

1. Cross Wheel Drive (XWD)

Every vehicle comes equipped with the company’s standard XWD. It provides generous torque steer, and superb control when a driver uses the manual transmission. This car is a smooth and fast drive.

The XWD is an all-wheel-drive system that balances torque between the front and rear axles. It also evens the torque between the rear wheels. The anti-lock brakes transmit data that enables this. Rear drive balances oversteer and understeer.

2. Electronic Slip-Differential

Furthermore, this car’s electronic slip differential gets input from the rear-wheel speed sensors. It transfers close to 40% more torque between the drive shafts to whichever wheel is stable. The damping enables the rear wheels of the car to follow the front ones.

3. Top-notch Drive System

These Swedish vehicles cars boast top-notch drive systems. A powerful V6 engine churns out about 295 pounds of torque. It behaves like a rocket, hitting about 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds.

4. Superior braking

These cars, including the 2018 Turbo X, come with superior braking systems. They have internally ventilated, big binders that enable vehicles to travel at fast speeds.

Why a Saab would need servicing: Tips

Like all cars, a Saab needs regular servicing. The car’s brake fluid, for example, can affect your car’s braking performance. Our mechanics will help you check if it’s contaminated. Come to us if you hear clunking sounds. They mean that your brake discs aren’t working.

A malfunctioning car cooling system can damage your car’s engine, and we can shed insight on this as well.

If you hear grinding noises from your gearbox, they mean that your clutch thrust needs repair. If it comes from under your vehicle, its differential may need attention.

A hissing sound from under the bonnet means that the engine’s fluid is leaking. Our mechanics are ready to patch that up.

If you hear banging or roaring, your car’s exhaust pipe may need work. We will prevent unwanted fuel from coming out of your engine.
